Small central air-conditioning cabinets don't call for high-pressure wheels. They need a steady volume of air at modest static resistance, a compact footprint inside the casing, and as few wearing parts as possible - that is the slot the SYP fills. This double inlet forward multi-blade centrifugal fan belongs to Midi Industrial's central air-conditioning fan range, built around a direct-drive layout rather than belts and sheaves. Air enters from both sides of the forward-curved multi-blade wheel, which keeps the flow broad and even at the low to medium pressures typical of packaged AC units and air handling cabinets.

How it's built
Direct drive means the impeller mounts on the motor shaft directly. There are no belts to tighten, no pulleys to align, and no belts to replace after wear. That cuts the maintenance points down to the motor itself, and it keeps the overall assembly shorter than a belt-driven unit of the same output. The double-inlet arrangement helps here: two intake sides feed the wheel without needing a larger diameter, which matters when the AHU casing has fixed internal dimensions.

Where it goes
The SYP shows up in central air-conditioning units, fresh-air boxes and compact ventilation cabinets serving offices, retail spaces and light industrial rooms. When you size one, match the wheel to the expected filter and coil resistance rather than to raw airflow alone - this fan works best on the low-pressure side of the range. As a component for HVAC fan manufacturers, it is sold to cabinet builders and engineering contractors who want a no-fuss, low-maintenance internal fan for packaged central AC equipment.
