Need a blower for a central AHU that moves a lot of air without pushing against high resistance? That is the slot the SYT fills. It is a double-inlet forward multi-blade centrifugal fan, belt driven, built for central air-conditioning cabinets and ventilation plants. Air enters both sides of the wheel, which keeps each inlet light on a given duty, and the forward-curved blades trade some pressure head for volume - the usual answer for supply and return air in a central plant.

How the wheel and drive work
Two inlets mean the wheel can be smaller and shorter than a single-inlet machine moving the same airflow, which matters when the AHU casing has a fixed depth. The forward multi-blade design suits low to medium static pressure; once coils and filters stack up hard against the airflow, you would look at a backward wheel instead.

Power reaches the wheel through a belt and pulleys. You set the fan speed by choosing the pulley ratio, rather than relying on a fixed motor speed. The motor sits out of the airstream, so it does not have to handle the conditioned air itself. The practical side: belts and tensioners are service items, easy to inspect on a maintenance visit, and replacement parts are simple and inexpensive. For a large fan, keeping the motor apart from the air path also makes the drive easier to work on.

Where it goes
Central air-conditioning units, supply and return air cabinets, and general ventilation in commercial and light industrial buildings. If your load is mostly volume at modest pressure, the SYT is worth sizing before you move to a higher-pressure backward-curved unit.
